America has a lot of East-West Interstates. Canada is not like that. Eastern Canada and Western Canada are connected by this single two lane road. Here it is! Where the asphalt changes colour is when you *officially* enter western bestern Canada.

It's OK for a little bit past that point, then meh for a loooooooooooong time. Granted you get rewarded with the Rockies on the other end.

The western side is fun. It's the ontario side that is boring. Highway 17 2000 kms 8 towns!

Australia has 1 road coast to coast too.
highway 1 , in 2 spots.
1 near Darwin
1 near Adelaide

Same actually throughout most of Canada there is (at least) two roads, but near Thunder Bay and near the Ontario-MB border there is only 1.
